Dwayne works with ordinary rocks, but though a unique process turns them into one-of-a-kind unique pieces of furniture.

I am constantly building new creations all the time, as you can see I have a very diverse portfolio of artwork. I have always been creative with no formal art schooling I began by selling my steel sculptures. Then I worked into stone furniture, western furniture, interior tables, gates, monumental sculpture and so on.

My craziest idea was the stone furniture, but it is very practical and amazingly comfortable! I have had millions sit in my chairs and they are continually surprised at the comfort. I have hundreds of satisfied customers and have been building stone furniture for eight years. The idea came to me when looking for furniture that did not require maintenance and was beautiful, but found nothing. The weather in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado can be very unforgiving. One minute it's beautiful, the next it's a blizzard. Who wants to mess with their furniture?

That's when I thought about what was truly durable and sustainable. The first thing that came to mind was stone. I have always loved stone and steel and wanted to put them together into a functional medium. Then the potential hit me, why not create another option in outdoor furniture?  There is wood, which needs to be sanded & stained. Teak, if not maintained will break down over time. Or you can have wrought iron, but the finish will still wear off and they suggest protecting it with furniture covers in the winter. And of course there is plastic. But now there is another option when buying outdoor furniture, stone. It is durable, does not require any kind of maintenance, it's not going to blow away and you can leave it out 12 months a year for many, many years. It's so easy, it just makes sense.

My line of furniture has evolved beyond my expectations into an entire line of products. I have "Collectors" all over the country.

My passion is creating unique, functional, beautiful works of art. I encourage you to sign up for my newsletter, it goes out once a month that way you will be the first to see my newest creations. Sign up here.

"My work is all about capturing the movement, strength and spirit of the horse. Horses are amazingly powerful creatures and to be able to capture their beauty and strength in the form of steel is the greatest achievement to me. It honors the spirit and beauty of the horse." - Dwayne Cranford
