From record hot and cold temperatures to floods and droughts, 2013 was a wacky year for weather. Flooding in Colorado, drought in California, snow in the south, while the east is currently getting hammered with heavy wet snow and ice. To say that the weather is anything but normal would be an understatement. Extreme weather events are becoming a way of life. With that in mind, you need to take this wacky and weird extreme weather into consideration when purchasing your outdoor furniture.
When bad weather strikes, it’s good to know you can be anywhere and not have to worry about your outdoor furniture. When you buy Stone Furniture, you are buying peace of mind, products you can leave out year round. It isn’t going to blow away in the high winds, float away with floods, rust in the rain or snow and won’t melt or crack from high temperatures. You can also be assured that it won’t break into pieces, fly into the neighbor’s yard or be destroyed by hail. When extreme weather, strikes you have more important things to worry about, like your family, pets, cars and personal belongings. Stone 2 Furniture gives you one less thing to worry about. Your furniture will stay put and be right where you left it when the weather settles down.
We witnessed firsthand the damage that the weather can produce. On our last run to the junkyard for recycled parts for the furniture, we were greeted by dozens of mud caked cars destroyed by the floods and taken to the junkyard to be disposed of. The good news for you is that we were able to pull parts from these destroyed cars, ultimately providing us with the materials we need to build our Earth-friendly furniture. We feel good that we were able to keep at least some of the destroyed car parts out of the landfills.
If you have been concerned about your outdoor furniture and want something that is beautiful, functional and weather resistant, Stone 2 Furniture is for you. This furniture will last a life time. It will take whatever Mother Nature can dish out and stay beautifully functional through the worst.

You know, I was thinking about your furniture the other day while watching FULL garbage cans blown down the street. I actually said to myself, “If Jill and Dwayne made those garbage cans out of stone, they’d be going NOWHERE!
One thing’s for sure, wild garbage cans make it easy to meet the neighbors you never see. I think the whole block was out there at one point participating in the round-up.
So, when you guys coming to Vegas?

That’s a great idea Deb! We don’t have any shows in Vegas currently, but there is a possibility that we could do a trade show out there in the future. We could build extreme trash cans!!

WOWZA! For the last week or so, I’ve been writing about my “happy place” and teaching my kids to meditate about their happy places. And the first thing I thought when I saw this gorgeous photo was, dang, that is an awesome happy place! Oh, the at-home tranquil spot built out of natural resources, it’s just stunning. Thanks for this, and do carry on! xx Angela

Thank you Angela! I love that this could be someone’s “happy place.” I find it mine on a nice sunny day and the rocks have warmed up. It feels great relaxing in a warm stone chair, especially after building them, its very rewarding. Grounding.

What a great way to re-purpose! I actually have a flagstone and metal sofa table that was made here in Tucson by a local artisan and we love it.

Thanks Wanda! We could use new materials, it would be easier, but that would defeat the whole purpose. It gives the furniture more character too and we like the idea of recycling. Thanks for commenting!

Jill,
Make sure you build those garbage cans on wheels, whoa, sounds heavy!! LOL!
I have a slate and steel table outside, which, this entire winter has been buried under two (and at times more) feet of ice and snow. Most outdoor tables would have warped, bent, or broken under that kind of weight. Ours is holding up fine.
What you guys are doing is getting more and more important all the time!!
And I LOVE know that you are able to use recycled parts! Good for the environment too!

Yes I don’t know that the trash company would be able to handle garbage cans like that, but it is truly a problem that everyone faces on a windy day. I am glad to hear your furniture was able to withstand so much weather, it really is worth the investment to buy quality furniture that will holdup to the weather. Than you for commenting!
